Amsterdam Light Festival – Edition 14: Legacy

Edition 14 of Amsterdam Light Festival runs from 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026 and brings twenty light artworks to the Amsterdam city center. During 27 November–4 January, the lights switch on at 16:30; from 5–18 January they switch on at 17:00. From Wednesday to Saturday installations are lit until 23:00, and from Sunday to Tuesday until 22:00; during the Christmas holidays (20 December–4 January) they are on daily until 23:00, with New Year’s Eve lights off at 21:00. Visitors can experience the artworks by boat or on foot: canal cruises average 75 minutes and generally depart every 30 minutes between about 17:45 and 21:30, while the full walking route is roughly 6.5 km and can be followed whenever the lights are on via the festival app. Information points operate at Blauwbrug (near Amstel 33) and A Beautiful Mess (Oosterdokskade 227). Stichting Amsterdam Light Festival organizes the festival; tickets for cruises and programme details are available via the official site. One artwork, Knotted in the Wereldmuseum, can be visited free of charge on Friday–Sunday from 19:00–22:00 during the festival period.
